Ramsay MacMahon goes on his latest, Borders-based, Mach a Seo adventure in the tree tops at Traquair House, a beautiful location in south Scotland.

In a quiet corner of the estate is a towering oak tree, a real beauty of a tree. Growing inside a small wood it has grown tall and straight. Now you can follow Ramsay’s journey up into the trees and way up high into the towering oak tree, and the comfort of a fabulous hammock:

“So here I am at the top of the tree…and it’s absolutely fantastic. What I find hard to believe is that I am not nervous….There’s a real pleasure about being up here,….by yourself, with a gentle breeze in the air and the rustling leaves. I’m not worried about being so high up because I am sitting in this hammock. You could almost say this was a bed up in the tree tops.”

We were so delighted that he both loved the climbing, and also that he found a real sense of peace and tree time magic at the top, something about being in the hammock that allows you to properly leave the ground, and all your worries, behind, at least for a little while.
